That was rich coming from someone who had just mutated into a giant bird monster with lava for guts, but well, it
was
weird!
It wasn't that small towns didn't have their dark dealings. Heather knew
that
better than probably anybody.
It was just that those dark dealings took place underground and behind closed doors, between hands that were In The Know.

She dared him to come crawling back after what she'd done to him.
